FINIS Print Ads

Objective
Design a monthly print advertisement that highlights a specific product or initiative of the month. Product focus was determined by Sales and Marketing. Graphic files need to match specifications provided by each publication company (Swim Swam, H2Open, Swimming World, and Swimmer). The final design was very visual, and incorporated photography that was captured by in-house Creative team.

Solution
I designed 3 print advertisements that were targeted at multiple FINIS core customers – competitive, fitness, open water, parents and kids. When designing the layout, my primary focus was to emphasize the photography and create an emotional connection. All written copy was minimized in size and positioned within the photographic negative space to create a balanced composition. The FINIS logo was consistently located in the bottom right corner to increase user visibility while browsing through the printed publication.

The photograph featuring Challenger was captured onsite in the FINIS Stroke Lab. The FINIS Creative team created a life-size stencil of the suit and adhered it to a 10’ x 10’ cloth canvas. We splattered paint throughout the canvas evoking an image of the customization capabilities and freedom to design. I captured the final photograph as an aerial view from the peak of an 8’ ladder.
